Zollner Takes Over Production of the Loxone “Touch Pure Flex” Product Innovation
“Customer Created” Product with an Endless Number of Options
- Loxone develops a revolutionary control concept and relies on the know-how of Zollner in the areas of industrial engineering, automation and serial production.
- The “Touch Pure Flex” product innovation: intuitive and versatile user interface, which can be configured to be “customer created” – functions, layout, icons, lettering.
- Zollner Elektronik AG produces and engraves individual “Touch Pure Flex” buttons with state-of-the-art laser technology.
Austrian Loxone, market leader in the area of house and building automation, has assigned Zollner Elektronik AG with the production of their new “Touch Pure Flex” user interface. In many sectors, the demands for modern building automation is constantly increasing for various application possibilities. But here it also takes manual operation of a room or entire building to be able to intervene in the sophisticated sequences of an intelligent building. Loxone has developed an exceptionally flexible operating concept for this, which was realized in cooperation with Zollner Elektronik AG – the “Touch Pure Flex”.
On the 27th of June, 2022, Loxone Group CEO Thomas Moser visited the Zollner team in Altenmarkt and triggered the first order for its individual “Touch Pure Flex” in the Loxone online shop, which he was able to take with him after completion by Zollner.
Touch Pure Flex is the world’s most flexible control element for building automation.
Purism meets functionality – there is no better way to describe the new user interface from Loxone. With its button standard, Loxone is the leader in all things related to simplification. So far, many commend needs have been covered with just one button. With “Touch Pure Flex”, the operating concept has again been completely rethought. With that it is as individual as the needs of building occupants or guests. The new button standard has more than 14 touch points, twelve of which are freely placeable icons – which can be populated with individual symbols and markings – plus two optional selection buttons, an LED matrix display with optional status LEDs for precise adjustment of functions as well as integrated temperature and humidity sensors.
Each “Touch Pure Flex” can be quickly and simply created, “customer created”, from an online configurator regarding layout, functions and markings and individualized with a selection from over 200 icons. Adapted to these individual specifications, the user interface is marked with state-of-the-art laser technology and produced, then completely preconfigured and sent to the customer, who can place the “Touch Pure Flex” directly with the API connector with Plug and Play. The luxurious feel of the control is created by genuine glass, the satin-finished optics by ceramic refinement.
Its unique product properties make the “Touch Pure Flex” the most flexible control element in the world for building automation such that it can be used in the most widely varied application options – whether that be in a hotel, restaurant, company, medical practice, housing complex or at one’s own home.
Individually configured single devices in serial production
The goal of Zollner Elektronik AG was to realize the industrial engineering, automation and production of the completely individualized “Touch Pure Flex” with expert know-how, while at the same time to define the applicable processes and systems for validation and subsequent segue, step-by-step into serial maturity. The glass plate – user interface – of the “Touch Pure Flex” is produced using the most modern laser technology with the respective, individual symbols, laser engraved and assembled to be reliable and weather resistant.
In order to optimally adapt the background logistics process, the Zollner Elektronik AG implemented a digital supply chain. That means, after a “Touch Pure Flex” has been “customer created” in the online configurator, the order is transmitted by one of the worldwide Loxone locations via a digital end-to-end supply chain connection to the Zollner ERP system, and the respective order is produced internally at Zollner within 48 hours with an individual device. With this digital connection, “one-piece” production can be realized in spite of the industrially engineered sequences of serial production. Here, Zollner takes over packaging work so the “Touch Pure Flex” can be quickly shipped to the end customer by a Loxon distributor, assembled and with the applicable paperwork. Upon delivery, the individual devices are brought together according to the end customer’s order.
Top-Level Partnership – Two Market Leaders Collaborate
With the collaboration of the two companies, the “Touch Pure Flex” milestone has set a new bar in operating comfort and smarter automation.
Loxone Product Manager Phillip Gujon is happy to have Zollner Elektronik AG at his side as a production partner for large quantities. “Through digitalization of the complete supply chain, from the incoming customer order at Loxone to creation of the production order at Zollner, the Touch Pure Flex can already be efficiently produces as a high-volume product starting with a lot size of 1”.
For Markus Kerner, Member of the Zollner Elektronik AG Managing Board, the partnership with Loxone is an futuristic alliance:
“Loxone is one of the market leaders and has established itself as a pioneer in the area of smart house and building automation like no other company. For that reason we are very happy to support Loxone with our long standing expertise in automation and serial production as well as in the development of the sensitive process of glass and plastic adhesion, here custom produced with state-of-the-art laser technology. One fascinating and challenging task was also to realize a sophisticated logistics process. With the development of a digital supply chain, we were able to significantly enhance our competence and smooth new ways into a smart future.”
