Who knows more about the EMS industry industry in Mexico than SMarTsol founder and director Ivan Romo? I can’t think of anyone, and that’s why I was excited to have lunch with Ivan and chat with him and other members of the SMarTsol Technologies leadership team.

Ivan and I started by talking about the big trends driving business to Mexico, not least geopolitics, before we got into the weeds of where markets are growing fastest, which industries and products, who’s investing in Mexico and much more. We also touched on the challenges the industry is facing right now, not least of which is the limited available talent everywhere. We explore some of the issues and how automation as well as better training might be complimentary parts of the solution.
