North American Relay Sales Down 12%; Bookings Dropped 21% in 2019 Versus 2018

Total reported sales for all relay types in North America for the fourth quarter of 2019 were 12 percent less than reported in the previous quarter and down 25 percent from the same quarter of 2018. Sales units for Q4 2019 totaled came in down 17 percent from units sold in Q3, and 30 percent less than Q4 of 2018.

The total booking dollars reported for all relay types in North America for Q4 2019 ran 4 percent more than the previous quarter and down 9 percent from Q4 2018. The fourth quarter’s book-to-bill ratio for dollars was 1.024. Booking units in Q4 2019 were 14 percent above Q3. The third quarter’s book-to-bill ratio for units was 1.155.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to the third, sales were down in dollars and units for EMRs and SSRs. ASPs were up for both EMR and SSRs. In total, dollars fell 12 percent and units down 17 percent while the ASP was 6 percent higher.

When compared to the fourth quarter of last year EMRs and SSRs were lower in dollars and units. ASPs increased for EMR and SSR. In total, dollars were down 25 percent and units 30 percent lower, with an ASP 6 percent higher. For year-to-date 2019 compared to the past year, EMRs and SSRs were down in units and dollars with a rising ASP. In total, dollars fell 12 percent and units decreased 15 percent with selling prices 4 percent higher.
