iNEMI Call for Participation Connector Reliability Test Methodologies, Phase 3
Webinars Scheduled November 18 & 19
Existing connector reliability test standards do not address the full range of today’s and future connector applications, nor do they have the necessary detailed, defined test conditions and sequences. A standardized reliability test framework that evaluates electrical connectors across the broad spectrum of types and use cases would ease the current challenges of testing and identifying appropriate connectors for applications beyond traditional ICT.
iNEMI’s Connector Reliability Test Methodologies project has been addressing this issue. Work to date has developed a test framework based on an industry consensus view of interconnect levels, and defined a set of application classes (stress levels) and specific test conditions.
Phase 3 of iNEMI’s Connector Reliability Test Methodologies project plans a proof of concept of the defined methodology, inclusive of defining a test vehicle and evaluating its response to the proposed test framework. The overall goal is to enable reliability qualification of connectors for a broader range of applications and feed that information into connector standard updates.
