Indium Corporation Announces Updates to Global Supply Chain Management Team

Indium Corporation is pleased to announce several key hires and promotions within its global Supply Chain Management team to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of materials for its customers. Markus Roas has joined the company as Business Unit Manager, Metals and Alexa Hornstein has been promoted to the role of Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager. Additionally, Michelle Rounsville and Stephen Swancott have been promoted to the positions of Strategic Sourcing Buyer and Global Logistics Specialist, respectively.

Roas provides expertise and leadership of Indium Corporation’s global material sourcing strategy. He negotiates key supplier contracts and mitigates supply chain risks. Roas also serves as an internal metals subject matter expert and liaises with external supply chain counterparts. In her new role, Hornstein is responsible for overseeing all aspects of global trade compliance requirements related to the import or export of commodities, services, or technical data in accordance with applicable statutory requirements as set forth by the Department of Commerce, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of State (DOS) globally. She also serves as the primary corporate contact for third-party transportation management, customs brokers, international freight forwarders, and legal counsel on all matters related to logistics and trade compliance.

As Strategic Sourcing Buyer, Rounsville assumes responsibility for attaining the best cost in strategic products, materials, and services while ensuring uninterrupted supply for Indium Corporation. In addition to analyzing and adjusting current processes for operational efficiency, she increases market presence through current and prospective vendor outreach. As a global logistics specialist, Swancott is responsible for collaborating with global shipping and customer service teams, and U.S. procurement teams, to ensure all inbound supply and outbound customer shipments are transacted in a smooth and cost-effective manner. He also works directly with Indium Corporation’s third-party transportation management company to track, analyze, and report on monthly freight and duty expenses.

Roas brings over 10 years of management experience in the field of logistics and seven years of sales experience to Indium Corporation. He earned his secondary degree from Municipal Business School and holds a bachelor’s degree in logistics management from Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Hornstein joined Indium Corporation in 2019 as a global logistics manager. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, leadership, and management from the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne College. She is a Licensed Customs House Broker (LCHB) with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) through the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association.

Rounsville joined Indium Corporation in February 2018 as a purchasing assistant. She was later promoted to a buyer position where she conducted research for product purchases and corporate purchasing initiatives and maintained records and system information to achieve cost efficiency. Rounsville earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute. She is also a graduate of the Dale Carnegie “Leadership Skills for Success” program.

Swancott joined Indium Corporation in 2011 and most recently served as a shipping and receiving supervisor. He completed the Dale Carnegie course for Effective Communication & Human Relations in 2023 and holds an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification, International Maritime Dangerous Goods Certification (IMDG), and DOT Hazardous Shipping Certification.
