Indium Corporation Announces Spanish-Language Printing Webinar
Indium Corporation’s Iván Castellanos, technical services manager for Latin America, will host two sessions of an InSIDER Series webinar on the basics of reflow profiling. The first session will be on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. Central/4 p.m. Eastern, followed by the second session on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. Central/4 p.m. Eastern.
Solder defects in SMT can arise from three main areas: design, materials, and process. Identifying the root cause and fixing these defects can be costly. There can be many ways to resolve a process defect, and often the easiest and least expensive way to resolve some of these solder defects is by optimizing the reflow process. But to understand how to best optimize the reflow profile, it is crucial to understand the basics behind the solder materials/ingredients. In the two sessions of Reflow Profile 101, Castellanos will explain some of the basic materials science concepts behind solder pastes and how this knowledge can be used to optimize the reflow profile to solve some common welding defects.
Indium Corporation’s InSIDER Series is a free program designed to deliver expert technical content, share industry knowledge, and promote professional growth using a virtual platform. Current and future scheduled webinars, as well as recordings of past webinars, can be found at www.indium.com/webinar.
