Hon Hai obtains greenlight to reopen factories in Wuhan
Taipei, March 18 (CNA) Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., the world’s largest contract electronics maker, has received a greenlight from authorities in the Chinese city of Wuhan to reopen its factories there at a time when the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) contagion has shown signs of easing in the city.
An internal letter to its employees obtained by CNA shows that Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn on the global market, has received approval from authorities in Wuhan, where the COVID-19 outbreak originated at the end of December, for production to resume.
It also indicates that the Taiwanese manufacturer has started preparatory work to reopen its factories there in phases.
