Efficient Testing Meets Expertise at White Horse Laboratories’ New German Test Lab
White Horse Laboratories, a global leader in combating counterfeit electronics, is excited to announce the opening of its first European test lab in Munich, Germany. This new facility combines the company’s renowned industry expertise with a commitment to swift, efficient testing, providing an exceptional service experience for customers.
White Horse Laboratories’ test labs in Shenzhen, China, and Cleveland, USA, are both ISO17025-accredited and have proven their extensive capabilities for the detection of counterfeit components. The newly opened German lab is modelled to deliver the same comprehensive capabilities and services, backed by intensive on-site training from experienced colleagues from across the global White Horse Laboratories team.

The state-of-the-art facility will provide an extensive range of testing services in line with the updated AS6081/AS6171 protocol, including detailed visual inspections, X-ray, XRF, Heated Chemical Test (HCT), solderability testing, decapsulation, die verification, and electrical performance testing. Furthermore, it will extend its services to failure analysis, and logistics.
Expanding on the German lab’s future scope, General Manager of White Horse Laboratories GmbH, Horst Fischer, shared, “Our focus here in Germany is to continue to prioritize speed and technical excellence in our services, while expanding our capacities in high-frequency components and modules from the e-mobility and renewable energy sectors. We will offer comprehensive testing and failure analysis services for assembled printed circuit boards and electronic modules, including for products no longer repairable by their original manufacturers.”
Stephen Griffiths, Managing Partner, highlighted the unique capabilities of White Horse’s other global laboratories. “Our lab in Hong Kong has transformed into a fully capable testing lab, while our Singapore facility stands out for its high-speed taping and programming capabilities,” he explained. “Wherever our customers source their components, we provide efficient, accurate, and understandable testing results.”

To mark this significant milestone, White Horse Laboratories will host a small summer party at the new facility’s rooftop terrace, a celebration for its dedicated employees and long-standing customers. The full operations of the new lab will be shown later in the year, during the Productronica 2023 event, held on Nov 14-17 in Munich. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the White Horse Laboratories GmbH team, ask questions, and tour the fully operational test lab.
