Atlanta, GA – The ECIA 2018 Regional Series arrives in the Minneapolis area on Tuesday, October 2 at the Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington, 5500 American Boulevard West, Bloomington, MN 55437. For hotel information, please call (952) 345-1249 or visit their website.

Bob Kill, president and CEO of Enterprise Minnesota is the first speaker of the evening and presents data from his organization’s tenth annual State of Manufacturing® a comprehensive survey project sponsored by Enterprise Minnesota and its partners. To say that times are good for Minnesota manufacturers would be an understatement. According to the data, manufacturers have almost a surreally high level of optimism with expectations of record revenues, record profitability, record-level of investment in their companies, and increased wages. The sobering counterweight to this enthusiasm is the looming workforce shortage. Bob will share the full results and analysis of the survey. “I’m looking forward to an interactive session with ECIA’s electronics manufacturing professionals. It will be great to share insights and experiences — it’s an exciting time to be in manufacturing,” Bob concluded.

Scott Nelson, Vice President of Product, Digi International will address the group next. Scott joined Digi in October 2017 and is responsible for directing the company’s vision, strategy, and product roadmaps in collaboration with Research and Development, Sales, and Operations. Scott will discuss the IoT market – what’s new, where it’s headed and what it means for increased sales of electronic components.

Minnetonka, MN based Digi International has always been focused on connected machines. “Digi was formed in 1985—long before anyone coined the term the Internet of Things. We’ve always focused on connecting things, and bringing compute capabilities to the edge of the network,” says Scott Nelson. “As wireless data technologies have evolved, Digi has innovated right along with it, expanding our product lines with Digi XBee RF and cellular modules, gateways, and cellular routers to build critical communications infrastructures, plus embedded wireless system on module (SoM) and single-board computer (SBC) offerings for makers of next generation connected products.”
