ECIA Elects New Board Members
ECIA Elects Board Members at Semi-Annual Joint Council Meeting
Atlanta –The three ECIA councils (Distributor, Manufacturer and Independent Manufacturer Representative) met in Savannah for the organization’s semi-annual Joint Council Session. New council positions were filled and the ECIA Board of Directors elected three new members:
- Mark Shiring, President & CEO of ebm-papst, Inc.
- Chris Wadsworth, General Manager of Carlton-Bates Company
- Karim Yasmine, Corporate Vice President, Strategic Supplier Development of Future Electronics
The ECIA governing structure, under the new organization, comprises three separate councils representing the constituencies of the ECIA: distributor, manufacturer and independent manufacturers’ representatives. Meetings include sessions where each council meets individually to discuss key agenda items, as well as cross functional and joint sessions to address industry-wide issues and share updates from the councils and the association staff. At this past meeting, the Board was especially eager to hear details about the ongoing work of the Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC). Attendees also received a third quarter economic update, live via streaming, from the National Association of Manufacturer’s Chief Economist, Chad Moutray.
“We’re excited to welcome Mark, Chris, and Karim to the ECIA Board and appreciate their dedication to the association,” commented Bill Bradford, ECIA’s President and CEO. “Their great spirit of collaboration will no doubt enhance the direction of ECIA as we head into 2020.”
