HUBER+SUHNER to demonstrate plans for 5G and network densification at Optical Fiber Communication Conference 2018
Alongside the latest optical switch from Polatis and HUBER+SUHNER’s high speed RF test solutions portfolio, Cube Optics will launch standard-setting PAM4 modulated ROSA
San Diego, March 2018 – Leading international manufacturer of components and systems for optical and electrical connectivity, HUBER+SUHNER, will be presenting its latest developments and solutions for the shift to 5G networks from Polatis, Cube Optics and its RF division at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2018 – the largest conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals – taking place March 11-15 in San Diego.
“5G and network densification are the key areas of focus for us at OFC this year. As network topologies and technologies shift and change to accommodate the whole host of bandwidth which 5G will need, we are verifying our position as a one-stop-shop for future-proof connectivity solutions,” said Drew Martin, Market Manager at HUBER+SUHNER Polatis.
Polatis – world leader in optical switching technology – will be revealing its latest addition to the Series 6000 Ultra range of optical switches, now with the capability to extend up to 96×96 ports and features typical optical loss of just 0.5dB. Facilitating live demonstrations of its solutions including the scalable monitoring/conditioning solutions for 5G networks; single-sided optical switch modules for OEM integration; fiber break simulation for system test lab automation and integration of optical switches in software-defined networks for data center interconnect provisioning using NETCONF and YANG.
HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics (CUBO) will also be launching the new 200G PAM4 Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly (ROSA) for use in 200G and 400GBase-FR transceivers and LAN and data center applications. The leading manufacturer of fiber-optic components, modules and systems used in data and telecommunications, CUBO supplies solutions for wavelength selective sensing applications across the oil & gas market, medical applications, military, security & safety equipment. Other technologies on display at the show will be the company’s wavelength division multiplexers, switches and other highly integrated optical devices.
Also on display at booth #3239 will be the MXPM70, the newest addition to the ganged multi-coax product line. Uncompromising in performance and measurement reliability, the solution features a small form factor and unparalleled electrical characteristics. User-friendly and an essential solution for any bench-top and system testing, the MXPM series provides users with a higher level of precision. The multi-coax connector solution offers a coaxial-to-PCB transition of up to 70GHz (with option to 85GHz) smart interface protection and an innovative locking mechanism.
The SUCOFLEX 500 series will also be displayed at the booth, with the 500S test assembly setting the industry standard of return and insertion loss. Expanding the company’s current portfolio to include high performance test assemblies of up to 50GHz, the SF550S also provides a heightened phase and amplitude stability vs. flexure and movement.
“OFC brings together all of the major players in the industry to share ideas and showcase the very best in optical technology and advancements. We are very much looking forward to showcasing the breadth of solutions that HUBER+SUHNER, Polatis and Cube Optics have to offer to the business landscape right now,” added Stephanie Jarno, Market manager: Instrumentation at HUBER+SUHNER. “Our highly-flexible and small form factor portfolio of Test+ Measurement solutions has been developed and enhanced for high-speed digital testing, and remain at the forefront of the test industry, with unsurpassed performance and stability.”
Visitors are invited to attend a workshop co-hosted by Polatis on “Will optical switching drive data center design in 2028?” on Sunday 11 March from 1230-1530.
Polatis will also be hosting a demonstration of “NFV for Mobile Edge Computing on an Optically Disaggregated Datacenter in a Box” with their partners from the dReDBox project at the HUBER+SUHNER booth and in the SDN & NFV Demo Zone on Tuesday 13 March from 1400 – 1830.
OFC visitors can find HUBER+SUHNER, Cube Optics and Polatis at booth #3239 at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego.
