ECIA Launches GIPC Cybersecurity Working Group
Subject Matter Experts are Invited to Join
ATLANTA – ECIA’s Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) is inviting those in the industry with subject matter expertise in cybersecurity to join a new working group to stay current on issues, provide guidance and areas for consideration regarding Cybersecurity and Fraud. Here are some of the issues the group will be addressing:
- CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) 2.0 Compliance
- Ransomware Prevention
- Incident Response
- Cyber Insurance and spending requirements
- Prevention of fraudulent transactions
“One of the primary goals of the group will be to determine which areas of this very broad field are of most concern to our members,” explained ECIA Vice President of Industry Practices Don Elario. “Cybersecurity risk is getting a lot of attention as the electronic components channel conducts more of its transactions digitally. We want to identify the precise issues that our member companies need to focus on to mitigate risk without adding unnecessary costs to their operations. That’s what this Working Group will be doing: sharing knowledge, conducting research, and providing guidance,” he concluded.
The GIPC is asking for ECIA members and non-members with expertise in this important issue to contact Don Elario about joining the working group to set the agenda for addressing this industry challenge.
