ECIA Posts Latest Channel Channel Podcast: Foundation Chair Jim Kaplan
Atlanta – ECIA is pleased to announce that the latest Channel Channel Podcast is now available, featuring ECIA President David Loftus’ interview with ECIA Foundation President Jim Kaplan. The two discuss PACE E-learning, an exciting new ECIA Foundation initiative that will launch this fall to address the need for industry training programs.
“Jim Kaplan’s passion for this industry comes out very clearly during this discussion,” noted David Loftus. “He describes his background, which includes industry involvement through the family business, Cornell Dubilier, as a child. The PACE E-learning initiative is his brainchild, and he has rallied members around the cause, raising substantial funding, and getting the first two modules ready to roll out in a very short time. This will be a very valuable member benefit.”
“Getting new employees trained in the basics of the electronic components industry is something most companies do not do convincingly,” continued Jim Kaplan. “And often new employees are embarrassed to admit that they don’t know what terms like ‘design registration’ or ‘ship and debit’ mean. Now ECIA members will have a set of reliable and updated training modules they can access, free of additional fees, to get new employees up and running.”
